Past Event: Training Magazine’s “Flipped” Conference on Online Learning – October 6 – October 8

post-online-learning-flippedIn October I headed to Denver to take in the beautiful scenery and deliver my presentation on the neuroscience of instructional design.

Here is the scoop on my presentation:
405 All Tips, No Hype—the Neuroscience of Instructional Design

Many claim to know the secret for applying the astounding discoveries coming out of neuroscience to the challenge of helping people learn. We’ll establish a few key foundational concepts in neuroscience and help you separate the hype from truth so you’ll be able to evaluate the information with a critical eye and become a better instructional designer, trainer or manager.

I used the “flipped” learning approach by sending materials out in advance of the session, so that round table participants could prepare for a robust discussion with their peers. I facilitated the 20-minute discussion a total of three times as attendees move from table to table.
